Hi there - I’m Ben Kemp, from The SEO Guy Co. Ltd and my interest in Search Engine Optimisation dates back to the very beginning of the concept of amending site content in order to gain higher traffic volumes. In those days, before Google had been conceived, the Search Engine world was ruled by Alta Vista, Hotbot, Lycos, Excite, Northern Light - most of whom have faded into complete obscurity.
Back then, before SEO had a name, it was a much easier process as there were fewer sites to compete with, and hardly anyone understood the term “search engine optimisation” - let alone actually knew how to do it! 
These days, SEO is big business… and everybody wants to be a part of it. The sad fact is though, that there are a lot of snake oil salesmen and charlatans out there… The tragic illustration of this is that every week, I get ”SEO Site” cowboy owners asking ME for a “Free” site review! 
Worse, many of my projects involve repairing the damages caused by enthusiatic “SEO consultants” who, just last month, completed reading SEO for Dummies, and started up a new SEO business!
The goal of the blog is to share some case studies, real world experiences, advice and knowledge thats been gained over the years as the SEO world has evolved.
SEO is an art, not a science. Its filled with myths and urban legends. Theories are postulated, and become gospel without a shred of evidence… rumours abound…
There are few solid rules, only a handful of guidelines, and no there is subsitute for real-world experience, common sense, and the ability to apply some logical analysis to any set of circumstances.
