Brief: We received a request for SEO in May 2005 - which we did - although the site format made it somewhat difficult. Results were ok but, being constrained by the site's architecture, were less than we knew could be achieved. We were then asked to rebuild the site in January 2006, which was done using a FrontPage template approach to keep it fast and simple. At the same time, we were able to overcome the previous constraints, and utilise all the SEO opportunities available.

Result: The site revamp, and application of SEO, has produced a significant improvement to Search Engine Rankings, as the following images from the latest report will show!

 

The Search Engine Saturation graph below shows that Yahoo and MSN have indexed the site thoroughly - not sure how MSN calculates its pages though - the 90+ at one point was a little optimistic! The Link numbers were a concern, but early in May 2006 we commenced an Advanced Submissions package implementation and rankings have continued to climb as that has progressed. Google never reports the full back-link count, and it seems to me that Yahoo might have adopted a similar policy. MSN results seem more accurate.

Again, this clearly demonstrates the powerful results of a good application of Search Engine Optimisation techniques on a poorly performing site. The initial investment in SEO will demonstrate a sound return on investment (ROI) and results thereafter are substantially free! Having good "organic" Search Engine results minimises cost of sales, especially compared with Pay-Per-Click advertising campaigns!
