WordPress search engine optimisation (WP SEO) options abound. Whilst its difficult to select the right options from such a big range, doing so makes a difference both ease of use and to search engine results page rankings. There are also many new WordPress Design Themes that have some SEO functions included in the theme settings.
In the face of all this, how to decide what is important, how to choose wisely? Having been a WordPress user since V1.5 or so, I’ve accumulated several years of first-hand experience in WP installations, design themes and plugins extensions. WP SEO is my forte, associated with web site design and development for businesses world-wide.
The basic installation of WordPress is not aimed at delivering search engine rankings, and alot of what I see as “The Essentials of WP SEO” are not included in the core code. Regardless, a huge range of of good SEO plugins are available – the challenge lies in figuring out whcih to pick from the lists in each category.
